Donald K. Shores

Vice President of Sales

Raised on a farm on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Mr. Shores developed a work ethic of starting early and working until dark.  He graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor Degree in business and a minor in Psychology.  He served in the US Navy as a Communications Technical Operator during the Vietnam Era.

Donald brings over 38 years of Sales and Management experience.  Starting his career selling televisions and appliances, and advancing to a wholesale level at Amana Refrigeration, he was able to increase sales by over 30% per year.  He was promoted to sales manager, then to branch manager with responsibilities in training salespeople and meeting budget requirements.  After moving to York , Pa , Donald took a position with Vector Business Systems selling marketing and printing.  Within 3 years he became top salesperson, helping to propel Vector to Inc 500 Magazine’s List of 500 of the fastest growing companies in the US .  Constantly willing to invest in himself, he developed a highly effective sales team as “a company within a company”.  Within 5 years of starting from zero sales, the team developed over $1,000,000 in invoiced sales with an average order size of $400.

To sell more professionally, Donald became a CSE (Certified Sales Executive) and CME (Certified Marketing Executive), CPBA (Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst), and CPVA (Certified Professional Values Analyst).  Donald is able to relate real world experiences into companies, helping them achieve success in an ever changing environment.

Donald works primarily in partnership with individuals and companies to develop, differentiate, focus, and achieve above average results.  Building a sales culture that works, Donald assist our clients in creating effective sales systems and behaviors which lead to “Yes”.

Utilizing one-on-one coaching and assessments such as the Disc, Myers-Briggs or others, Donald works to help sales people identify and develop their own unique sales personality.  Focusing on building positive relationships, Donald helps sales people learn how to make effective cold calls, how to follow-up with leads, and how to close the sale.

In addition to working with new sales people, Donald also works closely with experienced sales people to assess their developmental adjustment and to get over the hurdles which so many sales people face as they move through their sales career.  Donald works closely with our clients to set appropriate goals, identify effective strategies for reaching their goals and, ultimately, in setting up personal accountability systems to help ensure their success.
