We want to share with all of you a recent letter we received from
one of our clients, Ed Dickerson, Sales Manager, Sutliff Capital
Ford, Harrisburg, PA:
Thank
you for your time and concern for our team at Sutliff Capital Ford.
Your willingness to listen and provide support to our team and organization
was greatly appreciated.
As you know,
over the past year our companys customer satisfaction ratings
had dropped significantly. Prior to meeting with you, our average
rating was 71%, which put us at risk of not receiving our annual
company bonus from the corporate office.
I only had
a few months to generate higher ratings in order to meet the corporate
goal and receive our annual bonus. You both listened to my needs
and my goals and provided me with several practical and immediate
strategies to support my sales staff. A few months after receiving
your coaching, our customer satisfaction ratings rose to 93% completely
satisfied. We were able within a few months time, to raise the ratings
and achieve our corporate offices goal. This has lead to numerous
awards, and ultimately we received our bonus payment which is extremely
important to achieve in our highly competitive industry.
Since my
interactions with Rising Sun Consultants, our company has seen tremendous
success and results with our customers satisfaction.
Thank you for
your kind words, Ed, but the real praise goes to both you and your
staff for all your hard work and dedication to once again bringing
Sutliff Ford to the high level of customer satisfaction it deserves!

Tips: Employee Turnover
Employee
turnover is a simple term. We all know what it means, but
what does it imply? Many organization development and human
resources experts have written about the effect of employee
turnover, including the significant negative impact on a companys
profitability, productivity, and morale. Unfortunately, however,
company leaders are rarely energized or motivated by the thought
of employee turnover in their organization. Why would they
be? It is difficult to be positive when facing the high cost
of replacing employees, reduced output due to a reduction
in knowledgeable and trained employees, and remaining employees
who often feel both down and discouraged due to increased
work load and/or seeing their friends leaving the company.
What
leaders usually do is to ask How do we stop employee
turnover? This is a reasonable and valid question. Unfortunately,
we are often fooled by the illusion that turnover is the problem.
In comparing this situation to the human body, we could similarly
ask How do we get rid of this cough? However,
is the cough the problem? No
the cough is the symptom
of some deeper illness. Treating only the cough by taking
syrup or sucking on cough drops will not address the illness.
A stronger treatment is needed, such as antibiotics. Likewise,
in an organization, turnover is a symptom of a deeper problem
in the system that must be addressed.
What
follows are five steps in a process that will help leaders
build organizational health rather than only treat the symptoms
of a sick organization:
1.
Commit to integrity as a core principle.
2.
Envision your organization as a truly healthy system.
3.
Conduct an organizational check-up.
4.
Develop and implement strategies to treat your organizational
illnesses.
5.
Develop a fitness maintenance program for the organization
Plan what will be done daily, weekly, monthly and yearly
in order to stay healthy.

pictures and diagrams, an array of research and data, and real life

Focusing
on Organizational Health
This months white paper describes a process through which
organizational leaders can move their company toward health and
vitality. By following a basic gap analysis design, the focus of
energy and effort can be moved away from treating the symptoms of
a sick organization to getting at the source of the problems, resolving
them, and working toward ongoing and healthy systems, processes
and culture. (For complete white paper, click

Story/Parable
of the Month:
Fate Is in Your Own Hands
Once upon a time, there was a general who was leading his army into
battle against an enemy ten times the size of his own. Along the
way to the battle field, the troops stopped by a small temple to
pray for victory.
The general
held up a coin and told his troops, "I am going to implore
the gods to help us crush our enemy. If this coin lands with the
heads on top, we'll win. If it's tails, we'll lose. Our fate is
in the hands of the gods. Let's pray wholeheartedly."
After a short
prayer, the general tossed the coin. It landed with the heads on
top. The troops were overjoyed and went into the battle with high
spirits. Just as predicted, the smaller army won the battle. The
soldiers were exalted, "It's good to have the gods on our side!
No one can change what they have determined."
"Really?"
The general show them the coin--both sides of it were heads.
