Rising Sun Consultants is comprised of an Executive Team with over 75 years of combined executive and consultation experience. Richard A. Pierce, Ph.D.

An award winning teacher and motivational speaker, Dr. Pierce holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Monmouth College in New Jersey, with a minor in Interpersonal and Small Group Communication. He received his Masters of Science degree in Counseling from the Pennsylvania State University and later received his Doctor of Philosophy degree from Texas Tech University in the area of Counseling Psychology.

In addition to his consulting work, Rick has extensive leadership experience in both the non-profit and for-profit arenas.  Rick has owned his own small business, has served on several major Boards, and most recently served as a member of the Senior Leadership Team for one of the nation’s larger non-profit organizations where he had oversight responsibility for a staff of 300+ professionals and para-professionals and an annual budget in excess of $13.5 million. 

Prior to his corporate experience, Rick was a tenured Associate Professor of Human Development and Family Studies at the Pennsylvania State University where he taught courses in all areas of Life-Span Development and served as a member of the Penn State Graduate Faculty.  Over the past 25 years, Rick has designed and conducted numerous seminars, workshops and training experiences in such diverse areas as interpersonal and small group communication, team building, conflict resolution, time management, program development, supervision and leadership development, as well as human growth and development, relationship enhancement, values clarification, clinical supervision and counseling and psychotherapy.

Rick currently holds membership status in the American Psychological Association, the Institute of Management Consultants and is a licensed in the administration of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) instrument, Strong Interest Inventory® instrument, Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI), FIRO-B® instrument, CPI 260™ instrument, and California Psychological Inventory™ (CPI™) instrument.

 
James S. Rowell, M.S.Ed.

Mr. Rowell holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education and Mathematics from Potsdam State College in New York. He received his Masters of Science degree in Education, with a focus in Instructional Technology and Media Management also from Potsdam State College. Jim has had extensive experience as a professional trainer and supervisor and most recently served as the Director of Learning and Performance for a large organization where he had oversight responsibility for all of the learning opportunities for approximately 1,100 employees.

Throughout his 20 years of professional experience, Jim has provided hundreds of hours of training and consulting. Jim has personally designed and conducted numerous seminars, workshops and training experiences in such diverse areas as human growth and development, relationship enhancement and development, values clarification, crime prevention, time management, program design, crisis management, standards development, conflict resolution, team building, management and supervision, and leadership development.

Jim currently holds membership status in the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), Institute of Management Consultants USA (ICM) and Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). He also maintains certifications as a Venture for Excellence Interviewer (Vic Cotrell), and 7 Habits of Highly EffectiveFamilies Trainer (Stephen Covey)

 
Olga J. Blouch, M.Ed.

Ms. Blouch holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania. She received her Masters of Education, with a Major in Training & Development, from the Pennsylvania State University.

Working for one of the nation's leading health insurers and largest health insurance company in Pennsylvania, Olga provided training and consulting in the areas of team building, effective communication , customer service, time management, effective meetings, interviewing skills, performance management, effective delegation, stress management, and effective speaking.

In addition to her training experience, Olga has also had extensive project management experience working with a leading regional health services company. In managing corporate wide projects, Olga utilized strong leadership, team building and interpersonal skills to obtain team cooperation and achieve corporate goals. Complimenting this background, Olga also has supervisory experience in working with training staff and managing long-term projects for external clients.

With a strong value for community service, Olga demonstrated her ability to inspire others and make a vision become a reality through volunteer work with a non-profit organization,. In her role as President, Olga led a one and a half year project, directing over 500 volunteers in both fund raising and construction of a $100,000 playground for the community.
